About

Maryam's impactful journey in the prison system began in 2006 at The Kintock Halfway House, in Newark, NJ.  Before that, in 2004, she spearheaded Councilwoman Bessie Walker’s reentry program. Throughout her career, Maryam contributed her expertise to various correctional facilities, showcasing her dedication and commitment. In 2014, Mayor Ras Baraka recognized her talent and hired her to work with reentry clients, a role where her skills truly excelled.

In 2019, Maryam showcased her experiences and insights detailing her time working in the prison system and managing a school. Additionally, she established "Tell A Vision, LLC" in 2016, a platform and TV show highlighting success stories of Returning Citizens, now thriving members of society. Through Tell A Vision, LLC Public Speaking Firm, Maryam's team delivers motivational speeches at schools, colleges, and Faith Based Institutes, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential.

The topics covered by Tell A Vision's Team are diverse and transformative, ranging from mental health to entrepreneurship, emphasizing personal growth and empowerment. Maryam's influence extends beyond the prison system as she motivates individuals to embrace their past and strive for greatness, exemplified by her founding of Creative Garden Daycare Center in 1974, which later evolved into an elementary school.

Maryam graduated from Saint Peter’s University, a Newark Schools Board member and Board President, and the creation of the Parent Notebook TV Show, Maryam's dedication to education and community involvement is truly commendable. Her philosophy, "Our experiences prepare us for our purpose, experience is the best teacher," captures her profound impact on those around her.
